CoralWarm Meeting, Bar-Ilan University, Israel (18-19 December 2012)

CoralWarm team members and collaborators gathered at Bar-Ilan University for an organizational meeting to update each other about the results of the various work packages and to plan future steps.

After the meeting we go visit the aquariums. On one side there are the aquariums where corals are stocked. On the other side corals are kept in different experimental conditions. Balanophyllia europaea on the front and Astroides calycularis on the back.

Everyone is fascinated by the aquariums. Great job Mor! J Oren and Giuseppe The trip continues to the Green House! Here algal mass is cultured for the production of biofuels.

The tanks have a paddling system for aeration and for light to penetrate equally. They also have sensors for pH, temperature and oxygen. Everything is monitored through computers. When pH levels rise, CO2 is added to the system.
